Abstract

The protector for use in forestry prevents wild animals grazing on saplings etc. It fits on a shoot to be protected, and has a body from which a number of fingers protrude along the shoot. The body consists of a strip (1) forming a sleeve of flexible plastics and with elastic protrusions engaging in irregularities in the shoot (10). The fingers (4) extend from the strip at intervals along it. There can be a press-button connector on the strip ends. The protrusions can be integral with the strip and formed by moulding, bending easily and forming bosses on it.
