Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de réduction des perturbations magnétiques dans les séries de cuves d'électrolyse à haute intensité. Le procédé consiste à faire passer les conducteurs négatifs de liaison négatifs entre cuves et à fixer la répartition du courant entre la tête aval et la tête amont ou les montées centrales de chaque cuve, de façon à annuler la composante By du champ magnétique au centre de la cuve et à rendre antisymétrique la composante By du champ magnétique au milieu du grand côté de la cuve par rapport à l'axe Oy. On commence en outre le champ de la file voisine au moyen d'un conducteur de compensation parcouru par un courant circulant en sens inverse du courant d'électrolyse. Application à la production d'aluminium dans des séries de cuves d'électrolyse alimentées sous les intensités pouvant anteindre 200 000 ampères.
