Abstract

The pump used in a powder coating installation has a chamber (20) part filled with powder. This is pressurised with air (36) through a porous bottom plate (23), the powder passing up a duct (33) into an upper chamber (21), to part fill it to a constant level. This chamber also has a porous bottom (26). An air jet (25) insidet the lower chamber and opposite a tube (22) passing through the duct conveys powder into the second chamber. This powder discharges through tubes (28) in the upper chamber with air jets (27) underneath. These tubes have axially adjustable air gaps to suit the powder characteristics.
