Abstract

Plastic lenses for vehicle headlamps are moulded with peripheral lip having integral flanges for mounting threaded screws which can be adjusted to control the direction of the beam relative to the vehicle body. Pref. the lens and integral flanges are moulded from a rigid transparent thermoplastic material, specifically PMMA. The complex moulding avoids an assembly operation to weld or otherwise secure the flanges for the adjustment screws.
