Abstract

Source de plasma constituant un accélérateur d'ions, fonctionnant notamment en présence d'une induction magnétique B intense et permettant d'obtenir un plasma de grande section transversale. La source comprend, une enceinte 1 associée à des moyens pour produire le plasma et à des moyens pour l'introduction d'un gaz dans l'enceinte 1, une série de canaux 3 parallèles communiquant avec l'intérieur de l'enceinte 1 et une bobine d'induction magnétique 6 disposée autour de l'ensemble des canaux 3, de telle sorte que l'induction magnétique B soit parallèle aux canaux 3. Application à la propulsion spatiale et aux traitements de surfaces par bombardement ionique.
