Abstract

Procédé de fabrication d'un monofilament en résine polymère thermoplastique. On utilise la résine polymère thermoplastique sous la forme d'un ruban, la structure moléculaire du ruban n'étant pas orientée, on soumet le ruban à une torsion de façon à lui conférer une forme sensiblement cylindrique, on transforme le ruban tordu sous l'effet de la chaleur et de la pression dans des conditions appropriées en un monofilament à section sensiblement circulaire et on oriente la structure moléculaire du ruban, ainsi transformé, suivant son axe longitudinal. L'invention est applicable à des résines thermoplastiques très variées comme par exemple des polyoléfines, polyesters, polyamides, le chlorure de polyvinyle, le polystyrène, le poly(oxyde d'éthylène) et analogues.
