Abstract
The automatic counting system is designed to count the number of objects which pass along a passage in one direction (arrow f). The objects to be counted have a height above a circulation plane (10) at least equal to a determined valued (h) and have a minimum length in the direction of movement. The system includes, at a height (h) lower than the minimum height of the objects, three optical detectors (A, B, C). The detectors are equally spaced apart. The distance (D) between the extreme detectors (A, C) is at least equal to the small dimension of the object to be counted. Each detector must have a definition sufficient to furnish a signal when a length at least equal to delta between two successive objects is presented in front of it.
