Abstract

The metallic mass detector in anti tank mine senses magnetic field variations created when tank passes and is insensitive to earths magnetic field or field created by foreign body. The magnetic field variations are sensed by detector (1) with one winding (2) connected to transmitter (3). A second winding (4) is connected to input of amplifier (5) with selective band pass frequency response. A synchronous detector (6) has a filter (7) at output to eliminate dc component and is followed by threshold circuit (8) comprising two operational amplifiers (12, 13) in open loop. When signal level is outside the level given by reference voltages (14, 15) a voltage occurs at the output (9) to detonate mine.
