Abstract

The rack accommodates compact batches of bottles for easy storage and handling, being particularly for bottles of champagne. The batch comprises two stacks of bottles arranged head to tail and fitting in between each other. Each stack has the same number of rows and bottles, and all rows are at different levels, and apart from the bottles at the ends the neck of each one in the one stack fits between four in the other. Distortion of the batch is prevented by a series of stiffening slats (5) fitted between the bases and necks of bottles in adjacent rows.
