Abstract
The standby lighting control system has a principal electrical energy supply source designed to provide the normal lighting supply. It also has a battery, a standby lighting circuit and a battery charging circuit which charges the battery from the principal supply. The system has a circuit designed to determine the state of the principal supply source. The circuit transmits a signal if the principal supply source is not functioning correctly. The existence of the signal is memorised by a circuit containing two transistors which are used to connect the battery to the standby lighting.
