Battery cell with Li as negative active mass, with positive active mass including thionyl chloride. The electrolyte consisting of solvent and solute, uses the thionyl chloride as solvent, and a complex salt obtd. by reacting at least one ionisable cpd. with Al2Cl3. The ionisable cpd. is selected from Li2S, Li2O, CaO and BaO.
