Abstract

Sodium paracetamol hemisuccinate of formula (I) is new. (I) is prepd. by esterified by paracetamol with succinic anhydride and treatment with NaOH. The cpd. is an analgesic and antipyretic agent which is very soluble in water and is without the unpleasant taste of paracetamol. Used in human and veterinary medicine at 0.2-3.6g/day.
