Abstract

The acupuncture points are heat treated with a manually operated heating element. On the skin of the patient is placed a heat source (2) heated with electrical energy. This heat source is operated with a frequency varying from one hundredth to two Hz. This arrangement transmits a heat pulse of diameter less than six millimetres. The heat source (2) can be a Peltier element (3, 4) carrying current varying in flow direction. The heater is cooled by a gaseous coolant supplied to the tube carrying the heating elements.
