Abstract

The taximeter in a vehicle prevents fraudulent use by an employee. The taximeter is controlled by several position sensor switches which are connected into the taxi "free" and taxi "occupied" circuits. The power supply provided by the vehicle is connected to the chassis (2) and to the position counter (3) of the taximeter and comprises several switches (L, Ti-3) in parallel. One switch (2) corresponds to the taxifree condition while the others correspond to taxi occupied. Closing of one switch causes the others to open circuit. These switches are connected to a flag indicator (4) on the vehicle roof which lights to signal free or occupied condition. The control circuit (5) with a fuse (6) contains switches in parallel (7) connected via a timer relay (8) to the horn circuit (9), which is actuated if the correct flag is not displayed within (say) 40 to 120 seconds.
