Abstract
Dans le procédé selon l'invention, on maintient une atmosphère sèche contenant de l'oxygène en contact avec le bain de fusion lors de la phase finale de la fusion pendant un temps suffisant pour obtenir un verre sec de telle sorte que la transparence de celui-ci vis-à-vis d'une lumière d'une longueur d'onde de 2,1 mu m soit d'au moins 0,65 par centimètre d'épaisseur.
