Abstract

The modular elements are used to mfr. armchairs, settees, etc. and consist of a base frame(1) and frames for the back(4) and arms(3). The back and arm frames have ribs (22, 32, 42) which engage in corresponding slots (11) in the sides of the base frame. The upper part of the back and arm frames(23, 33, 43) are curved outwards to support the cushions. The front of the base is open to allow a seating base(5) to be fitted in. The seat cushion is then fitted on this and an intermediate back cushion is fitted between this and the back cushion.
