Abstract

A cylinder (1) is carried by rollers (6) and includes a disc (3) rotatable on a shaft (10) whose other end terminates in a piston (11). The piston is slidable in a cylinder (12). The swath is picked up and fed to a driven conical roller (24) which, together with rollers (26) forces the crop into a flexible container resting on disc (3) and in annular chamber (9). The disc is forced rearwardly against controlled hydraulic pressure in clyinder (12), compressing the crop.
