Abstract

The front and rear bumpers of a motor vehicle consists of pairs of horizontal tubes, made of a transparent polycarbonate material and closed at the ends by caps. They are held between rubber blocks and a third rubber block fixes them on two upright tubes with a lower horizontal part. The latter is fixed by U-clamps to the car chassis. Such a bumper assembly is lightweight and does not obstruct the light from headlamps and traffic indicators. It prevents damage to the vehicle itself and to other cars when parking in confined spaces.
