Abstract

The metal pipe end for socketed joints of reinforced concrete pipes, if fixed at one end to the pipe core, the mating faces of adjacent ends being free of concrete. The end is made from plates either machined or laminated to close tolerances, the distance between the largest-diameter external surface of the male portion (7') and the internal surface of the female portion (6) being less than 1mm. Near the free end of the male portion is a grove (8) accommodating a joint ring.
