Abstract
A vehicle rear lamp, for safety or signalling use. The lamp itself is partly at the focal point of a concave mirror. Its light intensity is greater in the direction of the reflector axis and lessens as an angle with the axis becomes greater. The reflector has raised portions, themselves reflective and generally spherical in shape or ellipsoidal. The area of the bases of these raised portions, is approximately 50-90% of the theoretical surface of the reflector. The whole lamp is of monobloc construction. This provides an intense beam for example with bicycles to show clearly to vehicles coming from behind, and almost in line with them.
