Abstract

Impregnation of cracks or pores in concrete structures with a polymerisable liq. resin binder is facilitated by injecting a blast of air through holes bored through the concrete close to (within 5-10 cm.) the porous zone. The air stream produces a suction effect in the adjacent concrete pores to accelerate penetration by the resin. Pref. where the concrete comprises cladding on a supporting structure, ancillary holes are drilled through the concrete within 1-4 m. of the input holes, to vent the injected air from behind the cladding.
