Abstract

The identification tag is in the form of a strip of breakable material. It has a reduced section (4) equi-distant from the two ends which is easy to cut. Near one end is a cylindrical stem (5) with a shouldered joint (6) for piercing a thin part of the body of an animal. A socket (7) to receive the point is provided near the other end for locking the tag in position. The reduced section may comprise two grooves (3) spaced by an intermediate section (4). End sections (1, 2) have ribs (11).
