Abstract

The key has a supple head (4) or finger-grip which is built onto the inactive end of a serrated metal blade (1a). The head (4) may be of rubber or plastic, and the end of the blade is specially shaped (3) to provide an anchorage within the head (4). The anchorage (3) is in one piece with the blade, may be of a 'T' shape, and is formed by punching, cutting or milling. The anchorage may be cut on the widest extremity of the blade, and the cutting edges of the cutting tool may delineate a 'T' shaped opening. In addition the tool may be rebated at the root of the anchorage formation relative to the blade. The system permits the easy conversion of keys with round metal heads.
