Abstract
The static inverter, for a battery-powered colour television receiver, is operated at a higher frequency during switch-on than that employed under steady-state conditions. This ensures that the receiver will go over to normal operation while maintaining correct functioning of the demagnetising circuit. The inverter operates at an initial frequency dependent on its output power. A variable resistor (2) is located in the inverter's resonant circuit (6) and is varied by a control voltage derived from the inverter's output power.
