Abstract

The jig has a rectangular base, consisting of a grid assembled from profiles made of heat resistant steel (HRS), pref. by welding the profiles together. At the corners of the grid are vertical pillars (a) also made of HRS. Pairs of intermediate HRS pillars (b) are pref. used to make intermediate walls (b1) between the end walls (a1) of the jig formed by pillars(a). The grid profiles, and pillars(a) pref. have a U-shaped cross-section, whereas pillars (b) have a Z-shaped cross-section and can be detachably located at various points along the longitudinal profiles used to make the grid. Pillars (a) are pref. welded to the grid, and their top ends pref. have an eye in which a crane hook can be inserted. The jigs have high thermal conductivity; low heat capacity; low wt.; can be used above 900 degrees C.; and can withstand mechanical shock.
