Abstract

The cable detection systems are of the type which have a high intensity pulse generator which is connected to an end of the cable to be identified. A toroidal transformer is placed so as to enclose successively the cables to be examined or identified. A receiver which includes a measuring instrument is connected to the transformer. The pulse generator is made up of five circuits, i.e. an oscillator (14), pulse starting (15) and blocking (16) circuits, pulse power unit (17) and a double pulse forming circuit (18). The double pulse circuit can be incorporated in the general circuit or be inhibited as required. A high voltage stabilised current is supplied to the system from a circuit (19).
