Abstract

The energising coil (2) for a railway rail brake magnet has its winding (2') extending to just below the ends (5, 6) of the two shanks (3, 4) of the U-profile walling (1') of the coil box (1) facing away from the box stem section. The walling interior faces are lined with thin fibreglass weave, with the protruding end sections superimposed on the outward-facing surface of the winding. The top edges are comprised in angle profiles (8) of non-ferrous metal. The sheet metal strips (9) sealing the box terminates flush with the ends of the walling.
