Abstract

An open ended sleeve (1) with a forked extremity is used to connect the head of a brush to the handle, the head being of folded fabric in a bell form and fixed in the fork. The legs (4, 5) of the fork are diametrically opposed, project parallel to the axis of the sleeve, and are formed by the cutting of a plain sleeve. Holes (3, 6, 7) in the barrel and the legs provide for fixing to the handle and the head respectively. A modified design is used to fix a head of a cruciform arrangement of cut lengths of fabric, the legs (4, 5) being flattened and returned externally square to form a sole plate. The head is fixed to the sole plate by a demountable rectangular plate fixed by bolts through aligned holes.
