Abstract

794,100. Hand-drills. IVES, H. H., IVES. R. H., and RUSH, D. A. March 9, 1955 [June 4, 1954], No. 12089/54. Class 83 (3). [Also in Group XXIII] A brace comprises a body 4 having a square or chuck or nut-receiving socket 6 and a cranked operating-handle 1 extending through a transverse bore in the body and connected to a square cam 38. The cam is housed in a slot 37 across the end of the body and is engaged by a spring- plunger 31 to locate the crank 1 in the same plane as the body or in a transverse plane. The Provisional Specification describes also a brace wherein, instead of the cam, the end of the crank carries a projecting-pin engageable in a cruciform-slot adjacent the end of the body, and a modification wherein one end of the crank is pivoted to the body.
