Abstract

Thehandle is used especially for a hammer and is a hollow, fibre reinforced plastics cylinder with a socket for accommodating the hammer head tapered shank. The cylindrical hollow cylinder has a foam plastics core (6) and a tapered socket which ensures firm connection between the tool tapered shank and the handle. The tapered shank (3) is pushed into the handle tapered socket. The shoulder of this shank rests on the end of the tubular shell (1) made from fibre reinforced plastics. The shank can have an I profile cross section and the shank is adhesive bonded to the socket. In another version the shank may be notched for better bonding.
