Abstract

The post comprises circular hollow section lengths of identical cross section, with a tensioned internal cable maintaining them in a co-axial end to end relationship and permitting articulation at the joints. A flanged double spigot spacer with an axial hole for the cable may be incorporated at each joint. The spacer has identical truncated conical spigots projecting from the opposite faces of a circular plate, the dia. of the plate equalling the outer dia. of the post and that at the root of the spigots equalling the bore. A foam rubber sheath may be provided, and high elasticity may be imparted to the cable by a tensioned coil spring.
