Abstract

The motor vehicle lighting unit assembly, e.g. containing the rear signalling lights, has a lens blocks containing the various lamps and reflectors and with a sealing joint fitting against the bodywork. A socket guard is positioned at the block rear. The unit fits in an opening in the bodywork, there being a peripheral support zone on block and guard larger than the opening (26). Block (12) and guard (13) have two or more locking components working together, comprising a locking stirrup (30) protruding into an opening (31) and incorporating a spring clip (32).
