Au moins ces côtés opposés, tel que le côté large 4, comportent des cavités 12, 13 en arêtes de poisson qui aboutissent dans la gorge longitudinale correspondante 9 ou 10 et qui sont orientées de la pointe vers la tête 8 de la prothèse. Application en particulier aux prothèses de l'articulation coxo-fémorale.
