Abstract

A liq. sprinkler comprises a rotary bladed flinger wheel onto which an open-ended pipe delivers the liq. as the wheel is rotated by a drive system. The drive system pref. comprises a turbine rotor fixed on the flinger wheel shaft and powered by liq. which is eventually sprinkled by the flinger wheel. Alternatively, the flinger wheel shaft may be rotated by an electric motor. The flinger wheel is pref. fixed to the lower end of a vertical shaft which is extended centrally inside the top of a wine fermenting vessel. Wine drawn from the vessel is recycled by pumping through the pipe delivering onto the flinger wheel. Used for spraying liqs. heavily charged with particles, esp. recycling wine drawn from a fermenting vessel by sprinkling it on top of the cake of marc inside the vessel. There are no small orifices to block up. The sprinkle is evenly distributed over an extensive area with only a very low power requirement.
