Abstract

The diffusor comprises a rotary deflector (4) with radial paddles (5) each comprising a thin piece with a crescent-shaped cross-section and three arms (5a-5c) with slanting surfaces. A diffusor for mounting in a wine fermentation barrel comprises a rotary deflector which has a vertical rotation axis (8) and has a number of radial paddles joined to a drive shaft rotatable at a speed of less than 50 rpm by a motor (7). The paddle comprises a thin piece with a cresent-shaped cross-section in the radial direction, the piece slanting relative to the deflector rotation axis. The paddle includes three arms, the surfaces of one arm slanting at an obtuse angle relative to the surfaces on the arm before it, so that the arms form a convex curve (9) relative to the deflector rotation axis.
