Abstract

The heater, for e.g. coffee-making machines and egg boilers, has an acoustic alarm to indicate the end of heating. The acoustic alam is operated by a solenoid. If the heater employs a PTC resistor as heating element the acoustic indicator has a second coil (20) inductively coupled to the solenoid's coil (12) in the opposite sense. A part of the PTC resistor's current flows through the second coil. The ampere turns of both coils are arranged so that the indicator is excited only by the current flowing in the PTC resistor (1) at the end of heating.
