Abstract
The photovoltaic cell chamber provides protection against humidity and general atmospheric pollution. The enclosure lends itself to matrix construction and to mass production techniques. The chamber is in the general form of a spot-light enclosure with wiring (13, 14) brought in via a screwed or bayonet socket (18) and a glass to metal seal (12). The photovoltaic element (21) can either be attached to the plane parallel glass front (20) face of the enclosure or it can be secured to a metal plate at the focal point of a lens system replacing the enclosure face.
