Abstract

L'invention concerne un instrument portatif permettant de mesurer la netteté d'image d'une couche de peinture par comparaison avec plusieurs couches normalisées dont la netteté d'image est connue. Par une fenêtre 4 ménagée dans un boîtier 5, l'instrument laisse voir l'échantillon à mesurer (ouverture 9) et un étalon normalisé (ouverture 10), tandis qu'un dessin porté par l'ensemble 8 est simultanément projeté sur les deux ouvertures par une source lumineuse 7. Pour déterminer la netteté d'image de l'échantillon, l'observateur fait tourner un disque 2 portant une gamme d'échantillons jusqu'à obtenir des effets égaux. L'invention permet de remplacer une mesure absolue qui dépend de l'acuité visuelle de l'observateur par une mesure relative. Elle s'applique notamment à la vérification des couches de finition des carrosseries d'automobiles.
