Abstract

L'invention concerne une variante améliorée de l'installation de captage de gaz et fumées de convertisseur ayant fait l'objet de la demande de brevet principal. L'installation comporte en plus des organes décrits dans le brevet principal une jupe secondaire coaxiale à la conduite d'aspiration principale. La pièce intermédiaire de jonction entre l'enceinte et la conduite d'aspiration principale est mobile. En position relevée, cette pièce intermédiaire constitue avec la jupe secondaire une hotte large pour le captage des gaz et fumées émis lors du chargement du convertisseur. En position abaissée, cette pièce intermédiaire repose sur le sommet de l'enceinte constituée partiellement par le bord supérieur d'une porte de chargement du convertisseur. L'invention s'applique principalement au captage des gaz et fumées des convertisseurs d'affinage de la fonte en acier.
