Abstract
The Af transistor circuit comprises a pair of complementary output transistor (2, 3) connected in push-pull with their emitters connected via resistors (4, 5) to a load (6). To provide overload protection two further transistors (7, 8) are connected to their respective output transistors via resistors (9, 10) which together with other resistors (11, 12) form a potential divider. The end of each divider is earthed via a capacitor (13, 14). A diode (15, 16) is connected via a resistor to the load. The DC voltages appearing on the capacitors determine the working point on the Ic-Uce characteristic of the output transistors. In the event of short circuited load, the working point is shifted according to the time constants. The circuit is esp. suitable for use with inductive loads, e.g. loudspeakers.
