Abstract

The electrical heating system for apartments is controlled so that individual radiators achieve required temperatures. Control system enables running cost to be apportioned according to energy usuage. External sensors (2, 3, 4) on north wall give temperature and wind speed data which is translated (5) into unique signal (6) which is modified by manual control (7). A voltage to frequency convertor (9) converts input signal to frequency which is variable and is divided (11) and converted (12) to low frequency rectangular waveform. A clock (13) provides timing signals. The convertor output (31) passes via opto coupler for processing to trigger triacs in individual radiator circuits.
