Abstract
The ignition has at least two coils controlled by switches. At least one spark gap is allocated to each ignition coil. A sensor system (10) connected with a rotating shaft generates at least two different signals during each revolution. These signals are applied to corresponding signal detection stages (104, 105) whose output signals control switches (11, 12). The sensor system (10) includes a Hall element (103), between the signal detection units (104, 105) each of which is coupled with the base terminal of one of the transistor switches (11, 12).
