Il est constitué par la combinaison de la paroi classique en résine synthétique, d'un écran isotherme et d'une pellicule imperméable ainsi qu'antichoc. Il est destiné à assurer par le recouvrement des parements internes d'une capacité avec ou sans réservoir incorporé, l'isolation thermique d'une masse de terre d'avec l'atmosphère extérieure.
