Abstract
Solar energy collector has a hollow, translucid parallopipedic body with pref. rectangular cross section made of glass. It is in the form of a tile for covering and protection of houses and buildings. Inside the body are three superimposed chambers, the outer two of which are interconnected. A vacuum is pulled inside these two chambers so they thermally insulate the central chamber. The thermal fluid, e.g. water, circulates through the central chamber via. inlet and outlet orifices. These orifices are connected to orifices of adjacent files, by means, of an impervious seal. On the lower face of the evacuated insulating chamber below the central chamber is a lower reflecting incident light. An anodised aluminium strip which forms an air gap below the outer surface also serves this purpose. Similarly on the lower face of the central chamber through which fluid flows there is an anti-reflecting layer. Used for heating houses or buildings, the collector is easy to instal and replace in the event of damage and can take the place of normal roof tiles. It has good sealing against atmospheric agents and resists corrosion.
