Abstract

The container has a one piece body comprising a cylindrical side wall (11) and a bottom (12) which merge at a radiused part (14). The bottom incorporates a support ring (20) which extends outwardly so that a lower curved zone provides a base for the container. The support ring projects from the radiused part (14) and its radius of curvature at the outside, is between 3 and 7 times the mean thickness of the side wall and the bottom desirably between 4 and 6 times its radius of curvature is between 3/10 and 7/30 of that of the part (14).
