Abstract

The mechanism is used on a vehicle to control the left and right hand wheel drives separately, each provided by a hand lever (1, 2). The main rod (8) of each linkage (A, C) partly rotates a vertical arm (7) to operate a clutch (4, 5) using one side of a cranked lever (9, 16). The other side engages a slotted bar (F, G) and is used for braking the wheel not being driven (12, 13). A third linkage system (E) is operated by foot pedal (30) and is connected to the brakes for both wheels. Applying this system automatically disengages the wheel clutch drives.
