Abstract

The article in a flexible wrapping with provision for extracting at least some of the air contained in it is placed in a box. The box has a hinged lid (6) with a seal (7). Movable plats (9, 10, 11) in the bottom and at two adjacent sides are traversed by screws (12). A conduit (8) is connected to suction apparatus. With the box closed and suction applied base (9) is raised to limit expansion of the wrapping to avoid bursting. Base (9) is then further raised and walls (10, 11) moved inwardly to form the article to the desired shape.
