Abstract

The domestic hand tool may be used to slice fruit or vegetables and has a series of parallel quarter circular plates (2) as counter-cutters. The plates (2) are mounted on a base with their radial edges in common horizontal and vertical planes and at uniform centres. Each plate (2) has a quarter circular opening (3), and the intervals between plates are traversed by cutters (4) under the action of a hand lever (5 to 12). The openings (3) form a space which is occupied by the fruit in preparation for cutting and the cutters (4) may comprise curved blades. A common axle pin (6, 7) may fix the head and foot of each blade (4) to the lever system and the counter cutter (2) block respectively. The former pin (6) traverses co-aligned curved slots (8) in the counter cutter (2) block, and the lever system may comprise a folding parallelogram (5, 9, 10) with an extended handlever.
