Abstract

An industrial screw press. comprises one, or several parallel, screw(s) rotating inside a casing fixed to the press framework. At cross-sections perpendicular to the axis of the screw, the casing is divided into several sections, each of which is individually replaceable. The several sections are pref. identical at least to the extend of being interchangeable. Each casing section pref. comprises an outer casing shell lined with a fixed, straining screen. The sections are pref. clamped together axially and not individually fastened to the press framework. Used for expressing juice from faults etc. partic. the fruit of palm trees. Presses of this type exhibit wide variations in the rate of wear and the interior of the casing, from one end axially to the other. It is now possible to either renew a badly worn section rather than a complete, more expensive, casing or to reposition a lightly worn section for further use.
