Abstract

The machine for dehusking substances such as coffee, has a beating device (3) below the feed opening (2) and the husks and beans fall onto a sloping shaker surface (5) below. They then pass through an opening (8) in the side of an upwardly sloping chute (9) through which air is blown (F2). The husks travel upwards then past a flap (9a) to fall into a discharge compartment (13) and conveyed outside by a screw (14). The beans fall down onto a sloping coarse sieve (16) below the chute (9), and small beans pass through it onto a fine sieve (17) for collection by a trough (19) at the end and discharged below. Coarse beans collect in an end trough (18) and are also discharged below. Small separated material is discharged through an outlet (20) under the fine sieve. Other coarse material is sucked from a channel (18) at the end of the coarse sieve, up a discharge tube (21) into the discharge compartment (13) above.
